The Biology Education Study Program is one of the study programs at the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP), Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS). The Biology Education Study Program has a focus on research and community service (PKM) which is based on the research roadmap and PKM FKIP UMS. The Biology Education Study Program compiled a research roadmap and PKM as a guide for the entire academic community of the UMS Biology Education Study Program.
The research roadmap and PKM in the Biology Education Study Program are based on research groups in the UMS Biology Education Study Program, namely 1) Biology Education, 2) Botany, 3) Zoology, 4) Ecology/Environment, and 5) Microbiology. The process of making this roadmap was carried out through a series of meetings, meetings, workshops and group discussions.
The objectives of preparing the research roadmap and PKM of the Biology Education Study Program are, among others; a) increasing the quality and productivity of research in the form of national to international scientific publications, textbooks, reference books and Intellectual Property Rights; b) Formation and development of Study Program research groups; c) Ensuring that research at the Biology Education Study Program level runs efficiently and does not overlap between lecturers; d) Increasing the role of human resources for the Biology Education study program in the community and e) Supporting faculty and university scale research plans towards the main community.
The objectives of this research and PKM roadmap are as follows: a) as a research direction for lecturers and students in the Study Program to be more focused and directed according to the scientific vision of the study program and university; b) The expertise and expertise of the lecturers becomes more mapped; c) Realization of a research culture for the basis of Study Program development; d) Increased product and service innovation and invention in the field of biology education that can bring benefits to society; e) the increase in the number of works by lecturers and students in Biology Study Program FKIP UMS, both in the form of Intellectual Property Rights, publications and other innovative works.

The quantity and quality of research and PKM of a Biology Education Study Program requires planning and strategies to achieve maximum results with effective and efficient methods. Therefore, it is hoped that this roadmap can become one of the solutions to achieve research and PKM objectives according to the vision and objectives of the study program. (San)
