Innalillahi, an earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 2.6 occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Java. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers on November 21, 2022. The point of the earthquake was at 6.84 south latitude and 107.05 east longitude. This earthquake occurred at 13.21 WIB. This earthquake had a very large impact and claimed many victims. In fact, the earthquake was felt as far as Jakarta. Apart from Jakarta, the earthquake was also felt in Sukabumi, Bogor, Bandung and Depok.
Due to the earthquake disaster, UMS as a Higher Education Institution also took part in carrying out social activities by sending a team of volunteers consisting of lecturers, students, and other academics. One of the earthquake volunteers from UMS, namely Biology Education Study Program student Berliani Achya Putri S. Berlian and other volunteers departed in January 2023. These volunteers have a mission to distribute social assistance and provide training, post-earthquake recovery.
Hopefully given the ease and fluency in carrying out the task … and can bring Cianjur to recover. (mzi)
